Looking after it
Wipe the top with a damp cloth. Keep the cushions dry. Carry it by the handle rather than by the top edge.
About this product
A 54.6 x 35.6cm top on two cushions, with a handle.
Takes a 43cm laptop, with a built-in mouse pad on the right, a wrist pad, and holders for a tablet, a phone and a pen.
A lap desk with an engineered wood top on two cushions, and a handle for carrying.
The top is 54.6 x 35.6cm, which takes a 43cm laptop with room for the mouse pad.
The mouse pad is on the right, with space for a 35.6cm laptop on the left when it is in use.
A wrist pad along the front stops the laptop sliding off and gives your wrists somewhere to sit.
Holders for a tablet, a phone and a pen. It weighs 1.95kg.
A lap desk is a flat surface between a laptop and your legs, and everything that makes one good or bad is in the details.
The top here is 54.6 x 35.6cm, which is the size that matters: it takes a 43cm laptop and still has the integrated mouse pad on the right. Most lap desks make you choose between the laptop and the mouse.
The base is two cushions rather than one pad. Two cushions with a gap conform to your lap and let air through; a single slab of foam presses on one spot and gets hot.
The wrist pad along the front does two jobs. It gives your wrists somewhere to rest, and it stops the laptop sliding off when you shift position, which is the way a lap desk usually loses a laptop.
The holders for a tablet, a phone and a pen are the difference between a tray and a workspace, and the handle is what stops it living permanently in one room.
It is a warehouse line, picked and packed by us.
Still deciding?
Not sure yet? That is fine.
You cannot always judge a product from a photograph. If it is not right for you, send it back within 15 days of delivery in resaleable condition and we refund the price you paid, including standard delivery. That is on top of your Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 rights if anything arrives faulty.
If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. The Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 covers you, and we pay the return postage. Read the full detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.
Got questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
How big is the lap desk?
The top is 54.6 x 35.6cm and it takes a laptop up to 43cm.
Is there room for a mouse?
Yes, the mouse pad is built into the right-hand side with space for a 35.6cm laptop on the left at the same time.
What is the wrist pad for?
Somewhere for your wrists, and it stops the laptop sliding off the front when you move.
Will it get hot on my legs?
The base is two separate cushions with a gap, so air moves and no single point takes all the heat.
Can I use it in bed?
That is one of the two places it is designed for. The other is a sofa.
Does it hold a tablet upright?
Yes, there is a tablet holder, and a phone holder beside it.
How heavy is it?
1.95kg, and it has a handle.
What is the top made of?
An engineered wood panel.
Will it fit a 17 inch laptop?
43cm is the stated maximum, which covers a 17 inch machine.
Can I write on it?
Yes, it is a flat rigid top, and there is a pen holder.
Does it fold?
No. It is a rigid tray with a handle rather than a folding table.
Is it stable on a soft mattress?
The dual cushions spread the load, which helps. Nothing is perfectly stable on a soft mattress.
Can a child use it for homework?
Yes, it is a common use, and the size suits a laptop or a book.
