"description_short": "19 momme long strand mulberry silk in a charmeuse weave, black or white, queen or king. It is a single flat sheet: no fitted sheet and no pillowcases, and we would rather that were obvious before you order.",
"description": "Buy the piece that touches you\n\nIf you are dressing a bed in silk one item at a time, the order is: pillowcase, flat sheet, everything else. The pillowcase is against your face and hair for the whole night in one concentrated spot. The flat sheet is against the rest of you. The fitted sheet spends the night under a body and the quilt cover is on the far side of a quilt.\n\nKnow that this is one sheet\n\nThis product is a single flat sheet. Not a set, no fitted sheet, no pillowcases. It is written on the page, in the specifications and here, because it is the single most common misunderstanding about silk bedding sold online.\n\nMomme on a sheet is not momme on a pillowcase\n\nThis sheet is 19 momme where our pillowcases are 22. That is deliberate. A sheet at 22 momme is heavy on the bed, slower to dry and considerably more expensive, and it takes nothing like the concentrated rubbing a pillowcase does.\n\nSize up rather than down\n\nQueen is 240 by 240 cm, king is 240 by 270 cm. Both are cut generous, because a flat sheet that will not tuck under the mattress is a sheet you stop using. If your mattress is unusually deep, take the king.\n\nWhat silk does about temperature\n\nIt moves moisture rather than trapping air, so it does not insulate the way a wool blanket does and it does not cling the way a synthetic can. That is why the same sheet works in February and July. It is not air conditioning and we will not pretend otherwise.\n\nWashing a whole sheet\n\nCold water, 30 degrees or below, hand wash or a gentle machine cycle in a mesh bag. Use a detergent with no enzymes and no bleach. Air dry out of direct sun and keep it out of the dryer. Iron on the lowest setting if you iron it at all. A large mesh laundry bag is the difference between a machine cycle that is fine and one that ends in a knot.",
