A mask cut to sit around the nose closes it without pressure.\n\nThen look at what touches your skin\n\nThe skin around the eye is the thinnest on the face and it is in contact with the mask for the whole night. Cotton is absorbent, which is useful in a towel and unhelpful here. Silk absorbs far less, and at 22 momme it is dense enough not to go transparent when it is stretched over the band.\n\nAdjustable is not a marketing word here\n\nOne size fits all is only true if something adjusts. On this mask the band does. Set it once, loose enough that it does not mark your temples, and it stays set.\n\nWashing it\n\nCold water, 30 degrees or below, hand wash or a gentle machine cycle in a mesh bag. Use a detergent with no enzymes and no bleach. Air dry out of direct sun and keep it out of the dryer. Iron on the lowest setting if you iron it at all. The elastic is the part that fails first on any mask, and heat is what kills elastic, so the dryer is the thing to avoid rather than the water.\n\nWhat it is not\n\nIt is not a treatment and it is not a substitute for a dark room if you can have one. It blocks light, it is gentle on the skin it touches, and it packs flat. That is the case for it.",
